NSCDC arrests pipeline vandals

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has hinted that its preliminary findings shows that vandals were responsible for the multiple explosions which rocked Ikarama community.

Last Monday, multiple explosions rocked oil facilities operated by the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, SPDC and the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.State Commandant of NSCDC in Bayelsa, Christiana Abiaka-Omanu, confirmed that investigation into the incident was already underway.

Abiaka-Omanu said the findings would form part of the statutory Joint Investigative Visit, which would include representatives of the firms, host communities, regulators and Bayelsa State Ministry of Environment.
