Upgrade Your Meters by February: EEDC Announces Prepaid Meter Revamp
Get ready for an upgrade!
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) is launching a new Standard Transfer Specification (STS) for prepaid meters starting in February. This means everyone with a prepaid EEDC meter needs to participate to avoid losing their meter or experiencing power disruptions.
The company said in a statement by its Head of Communications, Mr Emeka Ezeh that the process is simple.
According to him, “Just head to the link provided by EEDC and update your information by verifying your meter number, mobile number, and email address. After that, when you make your first energy purchase after the February rollover, you’ll receive three sets of 20-digit tokens:
- KCT1:Â This resets your meter.
- KCT2:Â This upgrades your meter.
- Energy Token:Â This recharges your meter and finalizes the upgrade.
Just follow these easy steps:
- Enter the KCT1 code and press “enter.”
- Enter the KCT2 code and press “enter.”
- Enter the energy token code and press “enter.”
Your meter is upgraded and ready to go. To avoid any hiccups, remember to:
- Buy enough energy units:Â The vending platform will be temporarily unavailable during the upgrade.
- Load any stockpiled tokens: Tokens not loaded before the upgrade will be invalid.”
With this upgrade, EEDC aims to improve efficiency and security for both the company and its customers. So, stay informed, follow the steps, and enjoy the benefits of the new STS system!
