Michael said desert encroachment and desertification, poor precipitation, drought, loss of soil fertility, poor vegetation, poor agricultural yield, food insecurity among others, were some of the effects of climate change in Nigeria.

Also, Director of UNIC, Lagos, Mr. Ronald Kayanja, stated that the SDG-13 dialogue was meant to discuss and deepen stakeholders’ knowledge of issues around climate change, especially with regard to the impacts, resilience and Nigeria’s adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters.Besides, Chairman of NES, Mainland Lagos branch, Dr. Eugene Itua, charged the participants to take responsibility and protect mother earth and mankind from climate change-related disasters through eco-friendly lifestyles.
