Two Drifting Survivors Rescued Following Cargo Ship Sinking Off Vietnam
The crew of the cargo ship Gia Bao 19, which sank off the coast of Vietnam over the weekend, experienced an extraordinary stroke of good luck as all nine crew members, including two initially missing, were safely rescued.
The incident occurred when the cargo ship faced flooding in a hold due to a broken pipe, leading to its sinking at 0445 hours. The crew abandoned the ship into a life raft, but two members were swept away by high waves. A good Samaritan vessel named Haian Park rescued the seven survivors in the life raft at 1500 hours. These survivors were then handed over to the border guard for medical evaluation and care, with two crew members having sustained minor injuries.
