TGI Group Pioneering Green and Digital Job Creation
TGI Group is leading the charge in creating sustainable jobs through its commitment to green and digital initiatives. The company highlighted its efforts at the recent Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) Summit in Abuja.
Akinkunle Akinpelu, Director of Group Human Resources at TGI Group, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability as a core pillar of its HR strategy. Over the past five years, TGI has hired hundreds of professionals globally to tackle environmental challenges such as afforestation, water management, and energy efficiency.
In addition to its green focus, TGI is aggressively driving digital transformation. By adopting cutting-edge technologies, the company is not only enhancing efficiency but also creating new opportunities for a digitally-savvy workforce.
Akinpelu showcased TGI’s rice plant in Argungu, Kebbi State, as a prime example of its commitment to renewable energy. The plant operates without fossil fuels and generates power from rice husks. TGI aims to replicate this model across its factories by 2025, significantly reducing carbon emissions.
The NECA summit panel, which included industry leaders and government officials, underscored the importance of green and digital jobs in Nigeria’s economic development. TGI Group’s initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable growth and job creation.
