The challenge is aimed at fostering sustainable innovations in Nigeria’s technology and telecommunication sectors by showcasing and rewarding emerging talents in these fields and providing a launchpad to scale up their solutions.

The challenge, which closed the entry portal on October 16, is targeted at young innovators between the ages of 18 and 35 years who are expected to showcase their original technology-driven ideas and products.

Successful applicants who reach the final stage will get to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges that will select the winners at the grand finale conference and exhibition holding on November 9, 2023.

The top three winners will be awarded a cash prize of N2,000,000, N1,000,000 and N500,000 respectively.

More so, successful participants stand a chance to benefit from world-class expert training and mentorship through the Innovation boot camp, opportunities to pitch to investors, network with established technology professionals and exhibit their innovations for free at the IMC Conference 2023.

The Innovation Makers Challenge Conference promises to be a highly informative and inspiring event, marked by a dynamic plenary session that brings together a diverse array of speakers and experts from various fields. This session serves as a focal point for delegates to gain insights, knowledge, and motivation from accomplished individuals who have made significant contributions to the world of innovation, technology, and sustainability.

Renowned professionals from different industries will share their expertise, insights, and perspectives on the current state and future trends of innovation, technology, and sustainability. Their vast knowledge and experience will provide delegates with valuable context and a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these domains.

A Board Member of TTSWG, Chris Uwaje, recently said: “The world is moving so fast but Nigeria is being left behind. The discovery of talent is a part of the strategic tool fit competing for a great nation. We cannot have benefits unless we surmount the challenge within the realm of technology.

“It will ignite transformative dialogues on Africa’s technology and telecommunications future while showcasing emerging innovations in Nigeria.  It boasts a diverse lineup of global speakers including the Founder of Metaverse XYZ and TEDx Speaker, Kate Hancock; Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Quomodo Systems Africa, Oluwole Asalu and Executive Director at Access Corporation, Lanre Bamisebi, amongst others.”
