The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), on Tuesday said it wheeled out 94,762.9 megawatts (MW) in Sept., due to increase in generation in the last two weeks of the month.
The daily statistics of TCN operations obtained from Nigerian Electricity System Operator (SO), a section of the TCN, indicated that 30,936mw was generated from Sept. 2 to Sept. 12. This was against the 63,826.9mw generated between Sept. 13 and Sept. 30. The statistics indicated that power generation increased by 32,890.9mw between the two periods.
The TCN said the national peak demand forecast stood at 19,100.00mw, the installed available capacity was 11,165.40mw, while the current transmission capacity and network operational capacity were 7,000 mw and 5,500.00mw respectively.
