Shell Wins FRCN Award
Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) has received the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Award for Consistent Media Partner, reaffirming its commitment to the socio-economic development of Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta. The award was presented at a dinner in Port Harcourt celebrating the 21st anniversary of Treasure FM, a member of the FRCN network.
Igo Weli, SPDC Director and Head of Corporate Relations, emphasized Shell’s long-term dedication to the region, highlighting programs supporting education, infrastructure, community electrification, and business empowerment since the 1950s. Represented by Shell Spokesman Michael Adande, Weli underscored that the award is a testament to Shell’s ongoing efforts in the Niger Delta, particularly through its support of the weekly program Canvas: Niger Delta Roundtable, which facilitates essential discussions on regional development issues.
