Seplat Energy Honored with “Gas Investment Leadership Award” for Pioneering Contributions
Seplat Energy Plc, a leading energy provider in Nigeria, has received the prestigious “Gas Investment Leadership Award” at the 2024 Gas Investment Forum. The accolade recognizes Seplat’s transformative role in advancing Nigeria’s gas sector, driving energy transition, and fostering economic growth.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the Forum’s management team to Seplat’s headquarters in Lagos, following the 2024 Gas Investment Forum held on October 21-22 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. The event convened key industry players to explore strategies for leveraging gas as a sustainable energy source.
Accepting the award, Mrs. Chioma Afe, Director of External Relations & Sustainability, remarked, “This honor underscores Seplat Energy’s commitment to redefining Nigeria’s energy landscape. Seplat Energy’s achievements include a robust production pipeline, with working interest production averaging 47,525 barrels of oil equivalent per day as of Q3 2024. Notable milestones include the maintenance of the Oben Gas Plant and advancements in the ANOH Gas Project, a critical development expected to boost Nigeria’s gas processing capacity by Q2 2025.
The company’s ongoing projects to eliminate routine flaring aim to reduce carbon emissions by up to 70% starting mid-2025, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.
