Dr. Emomotimi Agama, the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will deliver a keynote address on Nigeria’s green economy and infrastructure transformation at the upcoming 3rd National Conference organized by Oriental News Nigeria. The summit, scheduled for July 25th, 2024, at Radisson Blue GRA Ikeja, Lagos, will commence at 9 am.
The conference, themed “Green Economy, Sustainable Growth, and Infrastructure Transformation,” aims to explore policies and strategies to bolster Nigeria’s national economy while aligning with global efforts towards promoting a green economy. Hosted by Oriental News Nigeria, a leading digital media platform, the event will convene key policymakers, government and non-governmental organizations, and industry experts in Nigeria’s financial sector.
Key sub-themes of the conference include Green Finance, marketing, and supply chain; Strategies and Policies for a green economy; Renewable energy and Ecosystem for a green economy; and Digital economy Entrepreneurship. Dr. Agama, confirming his attendance, expressed optimism about the prospects of Nigeria’s green economy, emphasizing opportunities in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, ecotourism, and coastal development.
Stakeholders have underscored Nigeria’s commitment to harnessing its natural resource potential to pioneer green economy development, prompting the selection of the conference theme. The event will feature two main segments: an opening program featuring guest speakers and chairpersons addressing the conference theme, followed by round-table discussions engaging select professionals on the main theme and sub-themes.
