Saudi Arabia Announces Discovery of Seven Oil and Gas Deposits.
Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, has announced the discovery of seven new oil and gas deposits in the kingdom’s Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter. The announcement was made via the official Saudi news agency, SPA.
The discoveries were made by the state oil group Saudi Aramco and include:
- Two unconventional oil fields
- One reservoir of light Arabian oil
- Two natural gas fields
- Two natural gas reservoirs
According to the SPA report, the two unconventional oil fields and one reservoir of light Arabian oil were discovered in the Eastern Province. Meanwhile, the two natural gas fields and two reservoirs were found in the Empty Quarter, a vast desert region in the southern part of the country.
Prince Abdulaziz highlighted that these discoveries are part of ongoing efforts to explore and develop the kingdom’s hydrocarbon resources. The newly found deposits are expected to bolster Saudi Arabia‘s oil and gas production capacity, further strengthening its position as a leading global energy supplier.
