Sahara Group Enhances Downstream Transformation with Strategic Appointments.
Sahara Group, a leading energy and infrastructure conglomerate, has announced a series of strategic appointments aimed at driving the transformation of its downstream operations. Foluso Sobanjo has been appointed as Head of Africa Downstream, while Nomnso Dike has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Asharami Synergy Limited, a Sahara Group subsidiary in Nigeria.
The group also named Yvette Selormey as Country Manager for Asharami Energy Resources Limited in Zambia, and Yaa Serwaa Alifo as Head of Sahara Downstream in Ghana. These newly appointed leaders have already assumed their roles, ready to steer Sahara’s downstream operations toward greater efficiency and innovation.
Sahara Group’s downstream division encompasses the entire supply chain, employing cutting-edge technology for product procurement and trade, warehousing and storage, marketing, distribution, and retail of petroleum products across Africa.
Foluso Sobanjo, who brings over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles within the downstream sector, expressed his enthusiasm for overseeing the next phase of Sahara’s business transformation. “Sahara Group has established itself as a foremost downstream business in Africa. Our goal is to enhance the sector by ensuring seamless, reliable, accessible, and clean energy solutions for our customers across the continent,” Sobanjo stated.
Nomnso Dike, the newly appointed CEO of Asharami Synergy, shared his excitement about the opportunities ahead. “With over eighteen years of experience in finance and business development within Sahara Group, I look forward to working with all stakeholders to build a robust, transformative, and sustainable supply chain,” he said.
Yvette Selormey, formerly Managing Director of Sahara Downstream in Ghana, will now lead operations in Zambia. “We have ambitious plans for Zambia, and we are confident that the market will experience exceptional service levels. Sahara Group aims to bring energy to life responsibly, and we will surpass our targets for the benefit of the people of Zambia,” she commented.
Yaa Serwaa Alifo, an alumna of the Sahara Graduate Management Trainee Program, takes on the leadership of the downstream business in Ghana. “This is a huge platform given Sahara’s successes and reputation in Ghana. I am inspired by the excellent professionals in our team, and I know we will achieve great things and offer the market fresh experiences,” Alifo remarked.
