PTI Transitioning to Energy Institute – Chief Executive

The Chief Executive of Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun, Dr. Henry Adimula, has said that as the oil and gas industry is transitioning to energy broadly, the institute is also transitioning to energy institute.

Adimula said the goal of the institute is to become a hub for capacity building for the energy industry in Nigeria.

He stated this during an exclusive interview with Majorwaves on the margins of the 2023 Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES), which held in Abuja with the theme “Global Perspectives for a Sustainable Energy Future.”

According to the PTI Chief Executive, the institute has been doing a lot in the area of research and capacity development to proffer solutions to the energy needs of Nigeria.

“Our goal is to be a hub that develops the capacity for the energy industry in Nigeria today,” Adimula said.

“PTI is doing a lot of things in terms of research and development; trying to find solutions to the  energy needs of Nigeria. We are doing also a lot of trainings and capacity development.”

Reflecting on one of the topics at the conference, which focused on humanizing energy, he said humanizing energy is about making energy relatable to people. In other words, it is about “making the people the centre focus of the energy developments and the programmes in the energy sector.

“So, it’s not just about looking at the Naira and Kobo of it, but also looking at energy from the perspective of the consumers.”
