President Tinubu Appoints Four New Members to NCDMB Governing Council.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), filling existing vacancies and strengthening the board’s leadership.

The newly appointed members are Mr. Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya representing the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN). Additionally, Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi has been nominated as the representative of the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF), while Barrister Owei Oyanbo joins from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

The appointments were announced in a press release issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga. According to the statement, the nominations became necessary following the exit of previous institutional representatives from the Governing Council.

The NCDMB Governing Council, established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010, comprises representatives from key institutions, including:

  • The Ministry of Petroleum Resources

  • The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)

  • The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)

  • The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN)

  • The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)

  • The Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF)

  • The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM)

President Tinubu urged the newly appointed members to bring their expertise and dedication to enhancing local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to boosting indigenous participation and capacity-building in the sector.
