PETAN Unveils Official Program for Nigerian Pavilion at OTC 2025
The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. and the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, has officially announced the program lineup for the 2025 edition of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). This year’s event, under the Nigerian Pavilion, is set to highlight Africa’s growing role in the global energy sector.
With the central theme, “Africa’s Energy Renaissance: Leveraging Innovation and Natural Gas for Sustainable Development,” OTC 2025 promises to bring together top-tier industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders at the world’s largest energy event, taking place in Houston, Texas, USA.
Key Highlights of the Nigerian Pavilion Program:
Day 1 – Monday, 5th May 2025
The conference will kick off with the formal opening of the Nigerian Pavilion at NRG Park, Houston. This ceremony will be led by Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, accompanied by Mr. Jim Swartz, CEO of Chevron Nigeria, PETAN Chairman Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, and managing directors from leading International Oil Companies (IOCs), Independent Oil Companies, and other key industry players. The Pavilion will remain open throughout the duration of the conference, from May 5th to May 8th.
Day 2 – Tuesday, 6th May 2025
A Luncheon and Panel Session themed “Harnessing Nigeria’s Gas Potential for Domestic Utilization and Global Export Market” will take place at the Wyndham Hotel (formerly Crowne Plaza Hotel). Esteemed panelists, including representatives from IOCs and NOCs across Africa, will address critical topics shaping the gas sector. Attendees will include petroleum ministers, top executives, and industry stakeholders.
Later in the evening, the prestigious Nigerian Oil Industry Awards Dinner and Cocktail will recognize outstanding contributions within the African oil industry. This social gathering also provides a unique opportunity for networking and celebrating African culture.
Day 3 – Wednesday, 7th May 2025
The focus will shift to African Content Collaboration, with a session themed “Local Content Development and Partnerships for Africa’s Energy Sustainability.” African service providers, regulators, and key players will discuss strategies to foster sustainable partnerships across the continent.
Day 4 – Thursday, 8th May 2025
The event will conclude with a Networking Golf Tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course in Missouri City, Texas, offering attendees a relaxed yet productive environment to strengthen professional relationships.
