Oilserv Affirms Support for Nigeria’s Gas Transition as Federal Government Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects
In a significant move towards bolstering Nigeria’s energy transition, Oilserv Engineering Limited’s Managing Director, Nnanna Anyanwu, has pledged the company’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to gas utilization. This declaration comes amidst the inauguration of critical gas infrastructure projects in Imo and Delta states by the Federal Government.
Anyanwu made this statement during the commissioning of the Assa Gas Process Treatment Facility in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo state, emphasizing Oilserv’s dedication to enhancing the nation’s gas infrastructure. The project, virtually commissioned by President Bola Tinubu under the theme ‘Gas to Prosperity’, includes the ANOH PTF – OB3 CTMS gas export pipeline project, facilitating the transportation of natural gas from the NGC manifold at Assa to OB3 CTMS.
According to Anyanwu, the completion of these projects demonstrates Oilserv’s commitment to meeting project timelines, safety standards, and excellence, which will significantly impact Nigeria’s economy. He emphasized the transformative potential of these projects, envisioning a boost to the nation’s economy, increased infrastructure delivery, enhanced global competitiveness, and a transition to cleaner fuel sources.
The traditional ruler of Assa Autonomous Community in Ohaji, Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo, HRH Eze Emmanuel Assor, echoed the sentiment, describing the projects as an economic boon for the area and the nation. He emphasized the potential for job creation and economic development, urging NNPC to reciprocate the community’s sacrifice with infrastructural development and amenities.
President Tinubu, in his address, highlighted the substantial increase in gas supply resulting from these projects, aligning with the government’s agenda to deepen domestic gas utilization, boost power generation capacity, revitalize industries, and create employment opportunities. He commended the project partners and charged NNPC Limited to sustain its efforts for the benefit of all Nigerians.
