A group known as Ogoni Oil Bearing Communities Association, has urged the people of Ogoniland to shun violence in order to attract investment into the area.

Chairman of Ogoni Oil Bearing Communities, Chief Donald Gberesu, said this in a message to mark the 2021 Ogoni Day celebration in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Gberesu particularly advised the youths of Ogoni to eschew gang violence, in order to pave the way from potential investors to come into Ogoniland.

“If we must continue to earn dignity, I must advice every Ogoni that we must shun violence and live a life that people could trust to invest in our land, in a manner that is profitable.“We must do away with pride, selfishness and greed as well as step up more engagement that could provide employment for the young people of Ogoniland.”
