NPA Set to Implement Electronic Call-Up System at Onne Port Complex.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, is preparing to implement the Electronic Call-Up System at the Onne Port Complex. This move is in line with the directive from the Federal Executive Council and is aimed at enhancing the management of truck traffic at the port.
During a pre-implementation visit by the Executive Team of Callup Technology Services Limited and Forge Concepts Limited, Dr. Dantsoho reaffirmed the NPA‘s commitment to fast-tracking the automation of truck traffic at Onne before the end of this quarter. He emphasized the importance of integrating the electronic system with the Port Community System (PCS) and the upcoming National Single Window (NSW) to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, he highlighted the need for sustainable energy use in the system’s implementation.

The port has recently experienced significant growth in vessel and cargo traffic, partly due to the innovative initiatives introduced during Dr. Dantsoho’s tenure as Port Manager from 2020 to 2021. These initiatives have continued to drive year-on-year growth at the complex.
