NNPC Ltd Champions Local Content Development at 13th Practical Nigerian Content Forum

In a strong display of dedication to fostering local content and driving sustainable growth in Nigeria’s energy industry, NNPC Limited has reiterated its resolve to empower local businesses and innovate for a robust oil and gas sector.

Speaking at the 13th Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mallam Mele Kyari, represented by the Executive Vice President, Upstream, Mr. Udobong Ntia, highlighted the transformative impact of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010. Kyari hailed the legislation as a catalyst for positioning Nigerian businesses on a competitive global platform.

“The PNC forum provides a unique opportunity for stakeholders to reflect, share insights, and identify strategic growth opportunities. Our shared responsibility is to empower local firms and drive innovation to ensure Nigeria’s energy sector meets local and global demands,” Kyari stated.

Underscoring the government’s commitment to prioritizing local content, Kyari pointed to the recent Presidential Directive on Local Content Compliance Requirements for 2024 as a landmark strategy. “This directive strengthens our resolve to implement a robust local content agenda,” he added.

This year’s forum theme, “Defining the Next Frontier for Nigerian Content Implementation,” served as a rallying call for stakeholders to redefine strategies for maximizing local content in the evolving energy landscape.
