In a move aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, NNPC Energy Services Limited (EnServ) and global technology leader Schlumberger (SLB) have inked a technical partnership agreement to fortify upstream operations.
The agreement, signed at NNPC Ltd’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, witnessed the convergence of senior management teams from both entities. Mr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, hailed the ongoing industry reforms as catalysts for potential investment release in the short term. He underscored the favorable operating environment and streamlined contracting processes, spearheaded by President Muhammadu Buhari’s reforms, as pivotal factors driving investment prospects.
Kyari emphasized the symbiotic benefits of the partnership, anticipating heightened activity and increased drilling campaigns that would augment value for both organizations. He disclosed NNPC’s plans for a rig share platform, envisaging a surge in crude oil production and bolstering gas utilization efforts.
Expressing confidence in the enduring NNPC-Schlumberger relationship spanning 70 years, Kyari pledged to harness the partnership’s assets to expedite value creation for Nigeria.
In his remarks, Mr. Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of Schlumberger (SLB), hailed the agreement as pivotal in accelerating Nigeria’s exploration and production targets, thereby fostering economic growth and prosperity. He underscored Schlumberger’s commitment to leveraging local talent and enhancing capacity through technology and performance.
