The helicopter, operated by East Winds Aviation, took off from the Port Harcourt NAF Base with eight people on board, including six passengers and two crew members.

A search and rescue operation has been initiated by the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Aviation. As of now, three bodies have been recovered.

NNPC expressed its deepest sympathies to the families of those involved and assured the public that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide regular updates. The company is fully cooperating with the authorities to support the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
