NNPC Announces Soneye as New Chief Corporate Communications Officer

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd has announced the appointment of Olufemi Oladapo Soneye as its Chief Corporate Communications Officer.

This was disclosed  to newsmen recently, in a statement signed by NNPC’s management.

Soneye has therefore replaced Mr. Garba Deen Muhammad as the new spokesperson, who was affected by the shake-up that got over 90 of NNPC’s top management staff to involuntarily resign with less than 15 months to their statutory retirement in September 2023.

According to the NNPC, Mr. Soneye is a seasoned journalist with full-time and freelance experiences at some of the world’s most respected publications in Nigeria, Australia, and the United States of America.

The new NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer is expected to lead NNPC’s Corporate Communications team and drive its brand penetration, strategic communications initiatives, and stakeholder management.
