NMDPRA Cautions Stakeholders on Disaster Management in North-East

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) The Authority  responsible for the technical and commercial regulation of the midstream and downstream operations in Nigeria, has urged petroleum marketers and other operators in the North-East to strictly adhere to safety procedures to guard against incessant fire disaster at filling stations.

The North-East Regional Coordinator of the Authority, Malam Yusuf Shehu made the call in Maiduguri, at a Zonal Sensitisation Workshop for Industry Stakeholders on Health, Safety & Environment.

Malam Shehu stressed the need for Marketers to ensure regular training of fuel pump operators and other staff for the safety of customers and environment.

The Regional Coordinator warned that operators would be sanctioned if they fail to adhere to safety regulations set by the Authority.
