NLNG’s Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Olakunle Osobu, spoke during a panel discussion at the 7th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES). He highlighted the importance of digital technologies and data analytics in boosting efficiency, productivity, safety, and environmental sustainability across the entire energy sector.

Osobu emphasized the need to support young talent and adopt digital tools. He believes this will be crucial for streamlining operations, fostering innovation, and addressing sustainability challenges in the constantly changing energy landscape. He stated that digital solutions can create new career opportunities while tackling resilience and sustainability issues.

NLNG itself is a pioneer in using digital technology within the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector. Mr. Osobu cited examples like the Smart Mobile Worker program, which uses smart helmets and tablets for remote support, allowing for faster repairs, reduced mobilization costs, and improved safety protocols.
