NIMASA and MWUN Collaborate on Seafarers’ Mental Health
In a recent meeting held at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) headquarters in Lagos, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, the Director General, and Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), convened to discuss the mental well-being of seafarers.
Dr. Jamoh reiterated NIMASA’s unwavering dedication to the mental health of seafarers, underscoring the importance of nurturing industrial harmony within the maritime sector.
He commended MWUN for its instrumental role in fostering dialogue and enhancing relationships between employers and employees, recognizing their pivotal role in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Nigeria. Dr. Jamoh also voiced support for initiatives such as the Seafarers Recreational Centre, designed to bolster the well-being of seafarers.
Comrade Adeyanju applauded Dr. Jamoh’s proactive stance and the positive outcomes of the Collective Bargaining Agreement facilitated by NIMASA.
