Nigerian Gas Association Unveils New Brand Identity, Ushers in Era of Sustainable Energy
Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), the leading voice for the gas industry in Nigeria, celebrated a significant milestone on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, with the unveiling of its new brand identity during its Silver Jubilee Dinner and Awards night. This rebranding signifies a pivotal shift for the association, moving beyond advocacy towards positioning natural gas as the cornerstone of Nigeria’s sustainable energy future.
The new brand identity reflects NGA’s commitment to a more sustainable and efficient energy landscape. It symbolizes a departure from the past, emphasizing a future where natural gas plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, ensuring energy security, and minimizing environmental impact.
“Our previous logo, which depicted gas flaring, no longer aligned with our evolving mission,” stated Akachukwu Nwokedi, President of the NGA. “As we enter this new chapter, we embrace a brand identity that reflects our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and a cleaner energy future.”
The Silver Jubilee event brought together industry leaders, including Osagie Okunbor, Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria, Philip Mshelbila, CEO of Nigeria LNG Limited, and Adegbite Falade, CEO of Aradel Holdings Plc. The event also recognized industry veterans and past NGA Presidents, acknowledging their contributions to the association’s growth.
“Twenty-five years ago, the NGA was founded with a vision to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s vast gas resources,” stated Nwokedi. “We have consistently championed the development and utilization of natural gas as a crucial driver of economic progress and improved quality of life for Nigerians.”
Moving forward, the NGA will continue to advocate for policies that support the sustainable development of the Nigerian gas sector. This rebranding underscores the association’s alignment with the global drive towards a cleaner energy future and its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
