NIES 2024: Brevity Anderson MD Meets with Petroleum Ministers

The Managing Director of Brevity Anderson, event organisers of the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES), James Shindi, on Tuesday, visited the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri.

This was disclosed by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in a post via its social media handles.

According to the ministry, the visit is part of the preparation towards NIES 2024, which will hold from February 25-29 in Abuja, with the theme “Navigating the New Energy World Order: Security, Transition and Finance”.

“The curator of Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES), Mr. James Shindi today, visited the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), RT. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri.

“The visit was in the lead up to the Official Nigerian Government Energy event #NIES2024.

“Both Ministers have reaffirmed the highest level of government support and look forward to welcoming the world to Abuja in February 2024,” the ministry said.

Speakers expected at the conference include

  • the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al Ghais;
  • CEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari;
  • Commission Chief Executive of Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engr. Gbenga Komolafe;
  • Authority Chief Executive of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) Farouk Ahmed; and
  • Managing Director of Nigeria LNG, Philip Mshelbila, among others.

NIES, formerly known as the Nigerian International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), is the official oil and gas meeting of the Nigerian government. Over the years, NIES has witnessed the highest level of attendance by top decision-makers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
