NCDMB and OPTS Launch Marine Accelerator Training Program in Bonny Island.

In a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing maritime safety and sustainability in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) have inaugurated the Marine Accelerator Training Program. The program’s opening ceremony, held at Bonny Island, Rivers State, was attended by industry stakeholders and key representatives.

Representing the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, Barr. Esueme Dan Kikile, the General Manager of Corporate Communications/Zonal Coordination at NCDMB, graced the event. In his address, Engr. Ogbe conveyed his appreciation to the collaborative teams at NCDMB and lauded NLNG Ship Management Limited for their professionalism in facilitating the program’s launch.

“Collaboration and partnership are essential pillars in our quest for a safer and more sustainable oil and gas industry,” remarked Engr. Ogbe. He reiterated NCDMB’s readiness to engage with industry players like OPTS and other stakeholders to deliver value-driven initiatives prioritizing safety and sustainability.

Attendees were treated to a firsthand glimpse of the program’s facilities, including a guided tour of the Simulation facility. This immersive experience provided insights into the innovative methodologies and technologies that will underpin the Marine Accelerator Training Program, empowering participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of the maritime domain.

The launch of the Marine Accelerator Training Program underscores the commitment of NCDMB and OPTS to fostering collaboration and innovation within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Through strategic partnerships and targeted initiatives, stakeholders aim to raise the bar for safety standards and promote sustainable practices, ensuring the long-term viability of the sector.
