NCDMB Engages in Talks with Chevron, Pledges to Expedite Approval of Oil Industry Projects

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reaffirmed its commitment to expeditiously approving requests and documents submitted by operating oil and gas companies. The objective is to facilitate the rapid development of oil and gas projects, contributing to increased oil production and enhancing the national economy.

Mr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, provided this assurance during a meeting with senior officials from Chevron Nigeria Limited, led by Deputy Managing Director Mr. Cosmas Iwueze, at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Ogbe expressed the Board’s commitment to improving the timelines set by the Service Level Agreement (SLA) established by the Board, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC Ltd), and international oil companies to streamline the contracting cycle for oil and gas projects.

He proposed the creation of technical working groups (TWGs) between NCDMB representatives and respective international oil firms.

These working groups could convene regularly to assess companies’ expectations from NCDMB on their projects, aiming to resolve issues and reach agreements before official correspondences are received. Ogbe emphasized that this approach would expedite approvals and reduce downtime.
