Navy Commissions Boat, Other Projects to Enhance Productivity
As a way of keeping naval operatives physically fit to combat oil theft, sea piracy and other maritime crimes, the Nigerian Navy has commissioned some developmental projects including a multipurpose sports complex, a renovated boat and an event hall in Rivers State.
Commissioning the projects in Port Harcourt, the Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, said the multipurpose sports complex will serve the officers and men of the Nigerian Navy.
Dewy commended the gallant efforts of officers and men of Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder for the projects.
According to him, sports play a vital role in keeping the military fit to combat crimes.
“I am always happy to be invited by my commanders to commission projects. Apart from commissioning NNS Pathfinder boat, I am also commissioning Rivers Hall which will served NNS Pathfinder and the entire eastern Naval command.
“The sports complex will keep our men physically fit to combat oil theft, maritime crimes and carryon operation in our nation’s maritime domain.
“Aside that, the Eastern Naval Command still remains the champion of the last Nigeria Navy Games 2022, so to maintain that fitness, in order to also capture the next navy game, sports play vital role in keeping military men fit.
“Our operation warrants us to be physically fit to enable them deliver on our mandates.”
