NAPE Hosts Workshop on Energy Transition and AI for Media Professionals

The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) is organizing a workshop tailored for media professionals focused on the energy, oil, and gas sectors of Nigeria. The event, themed “Trends in Energy Transition and AI-Assisted Oil and Gas Reporting for Oil & Gas Media Professionals,” is set to take place on Thursday, October 17, at 11:00 am at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Dr. Abiodun Ogunjobi, FNAPE, President of NAPE, highlighted the workshop’s aim to improve the quality of media coverage in the oil and gas sector. He emphasized that the event will encourage in-depth discussions to address existing gaps and enhance the quality of interviews, reporting, and messaging in the industry. Dr. Ogunjobi noted, “The oil and gas industry is highly technical in its processes and operations. It is important that the reportage of events in the oil and gas space by oil and gas media professionals is delivered accurately, in context, and with the appropriate degree of detail.”

Mr. Austin Mgbemere, NAPE’s Publicity Secretary, reiterated the association’s commitment to collaborating with the press and other stakeholders. He stated that NAPE aims to provide platforms for learning, promoting best practices, exploring new solutions, and supporting industry advocacy for economic growth.

This workshop marks the sixth edition of NAPE’s workshops for media professionals covering the oil and gas industry
