NAEC Gears Up for 2024 International Energy Conference, Engaging Industry Leaders to Address Energy Challenges
Lagos, Nigeria – The Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC) is set to host its Annual International Energy Conference on October 3, 2024, in Lagos, bringing together top energy industry leaders and stakeholders to deliberate on critical energy issues facing Nigeria.
The conference, themed “Gas as Energy Transition Fuel: Navigating Nigeria’s Trilemma of Finance, Energy Security, and International Politics,” aims to explore the pivotal role of natural gas in Nigeria’s energy transition while addressing key challenges in finance, energy security, and international dynamics.
Ugo Amadi, the National Chairman of NAEC, highlighted the significance of the conference in tackling Nigeria’s pressing energy challenges. He emphasized the focus on strategic solutions to ensure energy security and sustainable development in Nigeria.
Amadi outlined the conference agenda, featuring sessions such as “Actualizing the Decade of Gas: Powering Nigeria’s Energy Sufficiency, Industrialization, and Economic Prosperity.” This session will delve into the role of natural gas in driving energy sufficiency, industrialization, and economic growth.
Another critical session, “Solving the Gas-To-Power Debacle,” will address challenges in the gas-to-power sector, including investment unlocking, tariff adjustments, and meeting energy targets for sustainable growth.
Adeola Yusuf, Chairman of the NAEC 2024 Conference Committee, expressed optimism about the conference’s potential impact on the Nigerian energy industry. He highlighted the participation of key stakeholders, including ministers, CEOs, regulators, and lawmakers, in shaping actionable insights and innovative strategies for sectoral advancement.
