Minister Commends Nigerian Firm for Constructing Ultramodern LPG Carrier, Advocates for Local Content Law
Nigerian firm Temile Development Company has successfully constructed an impressive Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier, the Alfred Temile 10, with a capacity of 23,000 cubic meters. The vessel was commissioned at a South Korean shipyard, showcasing the nation’s capabilities in the gas sector.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, commended Temile’s accomplishment, recognizing it as a significant stride in implementing the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.
The LPG carrier, named Alfred Temile 10, is designed to transport LPG from Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd to coastal storage facilities.
This development is expected to enhance efficiency in energy supply and increase Nigerian participation in the oil and gas maritime sector.
Minister Ekpo emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and local content development, urging stakeholders to build on Temile’s success. He highlighted the need for continued efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and prosperity in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
