LPG Expo: Energy Leaders to Discuss West Africa’s Clean Energy Future.

The West Africa LPG Expo 2025 is set to bring together global and regional energy leaders in March in Lagos, as part of efforts to accelerate the region’s clean energy transition. Mr. Jeffrey Leung, Director of the LPG Expo, announced this in a statement on Monday, emphasizing the event’s significance as a landmark gathering for advancing sustainable energy solutions in West Africa.

The expo will focus on promoting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a key driver of clean energy, with a goal of expanding the number of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) to one million by 2026. This initiative highlights the environmental, economic, and energy independence benefits of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Building on the success of previous editions, which drew over 3,000 professionals and featured more than 80 high-level speakers, the 6th West Africa LPG Expo promises to be the largest yet. It will showcase innovations from over 100 exhibitors worldwide and host conference sessions featuring more than 50 expert speakers, including government officials, global investors, consultants, and key LPG industry players.

The event is expected to provide valuable networking opportunities for stakeholders across the energy sector. Leung noted that Nigeria, as Africa’s second-largest LPG producer, plays a crucial role in the continent’s clean energy transition. Through initiatives like the Nigerian Energy Transition Plan, which targets net-zero emissions by 2060, the country has made strides in expanding LPG infrastructure, increasing production, reducing imports, and improving accessibility.

Neighboring countries such as Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast are also leveraging LPG to meet Africa’s 2030 clean cooking goals and reduce reliance on biomass, further advancing regional energy sustainability. The expo aims to foster collaboration and drive innovations to support these shared goals, solidifying LPG’s role in shaping West Africa’s clean energy future.
