KEDCO MD pledges effective service delivery, tasks staff on commitment

Dr Jamilu Gwamna, the Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO),has pledged the company’s commitment to ensuring effective service delivery that would boost customers’ satisfaction.

Gwamna made the pledge at a ceremony organised to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the company in Kano on Friday night.

He said KEDCO would continue to do its best to ensure improved power supply in its franchise areas of operation in the years ahead for maximum customer satisfaction.

“We must improve our customer relationship and we must always attend to customers problems or complaints because if our customers are happy the company will prosper,” he said.

He urged the staff to be more committed and dedicated to their duties to enable the company to remain afloat, and with a view to taking it to greater heights.

The managing director commended the staff and customers of KEDCO for their support and commitment toward having the kind of achievements recorded so far in the company’s six years of operation.

He said although the Disco had some challenges, the management was determined to address such and ensure the company continues to thrive in its operations .

“We have been through some challenges but with the help of Almighty Allah, we have been able to surmount all stumbling blocks and come out strong and viable.

Gwamna noted that the company’s achievements and good image could not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of staff who contributed to its successes in the past six years.

“Tremendous achievements have been made in our operations, reinforcement of our network base, acquiring new equipment and upgrading our system to meet up with the demands of our numerous customers.

“Tthe company has also been able to build good relations with its customers, staff and the media as key stakeholders.

“Our achievement in terms of where we took off and where we are now is commendable, ” he added.

He said the new year would see a major reformation in terms of investments, customer service delivery and improvement in the maintenance culture of the company’s equipment.

Gwamna said the KEDCO would also ensure replacement of obsolete equipment while taking advantage of technology and science for its operation in 2020.

“The year 2020 is a year full of prospect for us in KEDCO and we hope to scale up to meet up with our N4 billion monthly target for 2020.”

Earlier in his remarks, the Acting Chief Technical Officer of the company, Mr David Omole, urged the staff to put more efforts to make KEDCO the best Disco in the country.

The highlights of the event include cultural performance by the state cultural troupe popularly known as Yan’koroso and a raffle draws where some lucky staff went home with prizes.

Suspected Thugs Attack Obaseki, Oba Of Lagos At Oshiomhole’s House

Suspected thugs on Saturday attacked convoy of Governor  Godwin Obaseki, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu and Chairman, Caverton Offshore Support Group, Mr. Aderemi Makanjuola.

They were driving into the Iyamho residence of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole shortly after attending the first convocation ceremony of the Edo University, Iyamho.

Makanjuola was installed Chancellor of the institution at the ceremony.

Police sources said they were invited for lunch by Oshiomhole but were attacked by suspected thugs.
