Kainji Hydropower Generation Company (GenCo), under Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), has sustained 24 hour supply to seven eligible customers and 23 hours to another customer, dispatching 2,056 megawatts hour (MWH) of electricity last Wednesday.
The operation data showed that during the period under review, the bilateral agreement between MESL’s Kainji GenCo and the eight companies consuming huge electricity was successful. An exclusive analysis of an energy dispatch data obtained from the Independent System Operation (ISO), yesterday, showed that the eight firms received 2056.1MWH from the GenCo.
The Managing Director of MESL, Engr. Lamu Audu, had said the customers were paying for the bulk power at 100 per cent rate under the eligible customer regulation. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) unveiled the regulation on November 1, 2017, about six months after the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, initiated it.
