JTF Intercepts 14 Boats with Stolen Crude.
The Niger Delta Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, has destroyed multiple illegal refining sites in Abia State. The JTF Commander, Rear Admiral John Okeke, announced this in a statement released in Yenagoa on Sunday.
Okeke reported that the task force intercepted 14 boats loaded with crude oil in Obuzor, Okoloma, and Komkom River in Abia. This operation was carried out by the air component of the task force, following reliable intelligence from the public.
The mission aimed to combat illegal activities along the Obuzor, Okoloma River, and Komkom River regions. Okeke emphasized that the task force visited several communities to warn against illegal crude oil activities that harm the nation’s economy.

“This move aligns with the anti-crude oil theft and illegal oil bunkering stance of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa,” Okeke stated. The operation was intended to send a clear message that oil theft and economic sabotage in the Niger Delta Region will not be tolerated.
“We are ready, capable, and determined to combat illegal oil activities and preserve the nation’s critical assets,” Okeke affirmed. He also urged the public to provide reliable information to help track down oil thieves and vandals.
