Nigerian Maritime Lawyer Jean Anishere Appointed to ICC Arbitration Court.

 

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has announced the appointment of Nigerian maritime lawyer Jean Anishere (SAN) to the International Court of Arbitration. Anishere revealed this in a statement issued in Lagos.

The announcement of the newly constituted leadership of the ICC was made on Monday, July 1. Anishere, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, expressed her commendation for the re-election of Claudia Salomon as the President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She also extended her congratulations to the new and returning members of the court.

Anishere has made significant contributions to maritime law, authoring five volumes of “Essays in Admiralty,” a comprehensive collection of essays and papers on maritime law published by Petrospot UK. She serves as the Editor-In-Chief of “Admiralty Law Reports of Nigeria,” encompassing 32 volumes of judgments on admiralty matters in Nigeria.

In addition to her professional achievements, Anishere has held several prominent positions. She is a past President of the Women in Shipping and Trade Association, a past President of the African Women in Maritime Organization, and a former Continental President of WIMAfrica.
