House of Reps Committee on Population and NIMC Hold Retreat on Identity Management
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the members of the House of Representatives Committee on National Population recently held a retreat focused on “Identity Management and Legislative Oversight.” The retreat aimed to foster collaboration and strengthen the working relationship between the Commission and the legislative committee to advance the Commission’s mandate.
Speaking at the retreat, NIMC Director General Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote highlighted that the event was designed to reacquaint committee members with the Commission’s activities, mandate, and mission. She emphasized that the retreat would create an environment conducive to identifying areas for collaboration and building a harmonious working relationship, crucial for the success of digital identity in Nigeria.

Commenting on the retreat, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Population, Honourable Okunjimi Odimayo, commended the efforts of the NIMC DG and her team in enhancing the Commission’s profile in a short period since her assumption of office. He assured that the Committee would provide maximum support to NIMC to ensure the achievement of its mandate.
The retreat was attended by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Population and the management staff of the National Identity Management Commission.
