GoDo.ng, a new start-up community in Lagos, has pledged to help aspiring entrepreneurs to leverage technology to start and scale up their businesses.
Speaking on the concept of the innovation hub, the co-Founder, GoDo.ng, Chukwuemeka Agbata, said it was established to inspire start-ups to grow and develop their capacities.
Agbata said in the next three months, the first set of five start-ups would be incubated at the hub.
He said, “It is a vibrant community that supports start-ups at different levels of growth. It is a space for likeminded people to collaborate, share and learn.”
Speaking at the launch of the incubation space in Lagos, the Keynote Speaker, John Obaro, who is the Managing Director of SystemSpecs, said it was important for entrepreneurs to stay focused and be consistent with their business plans.
This strategy, according to him, worked for him when he established SystemSpecs over 10 years ago.
He said the company first set out to solve accounting problems in the non-banking sector by offering payroll services before it started selling data to banks.
Obaro added that its payment solution, Remita, was initially addressing payment challenges in the corporate world before the Federal Government adopted it for the Treasury Single Account that saved the government billions on interest charges.
In his goodwill message, the Director-General, Delta State Innovation Hub, Chris Uwaje, noted that knowledge could be harnessed to drive changes in the country, and commended the founder of GoDo.ng for the initiative.
He added that there was a need for scale of fees for professionals in the ICT industry.
