GOCOP Congratulates Femi Soneye on Winning NIPR Spokesperson of the Year 2025 Award
The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Femi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), who has been named the 2025 Spokesperson of the Year in the Oil and Gas Sector by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The award was conferred on Thursday, April 17, during the NIPR’s annual awards ceremony, recognizing professionals who have demonstrated outstanding communication strategy and public engagement in their respective industries.
GOCOP President, Ms. Maureen Chigbo, praised Mr. Soneye’s dedication to excellence, stating that the honor is a reflection of his consistent pursuit of transparency, credibility, and professionalism in shaping public perception of one of Nigeria’s most critical institutions.

Soneye, a former member of GOCOP, was commended for lifting the image of NNPC Ltd to new heights, particularly through clear messaging during key transitions, corporate reforms, and during moments of public scrutiny.
GOCOP emphasized that Mr. Soneye’s win also represents a moment of pride for the entire corporate communications community in Nigeria. With 120 members nationwide, the organization urged young professionals to take inspiration from his journey and commitment to nation-building through transparent and responsible media relations.
