Future Concerns Ltd to Commission its PPE Factory Early 2024
Future Concerns Nigeria Limited is poised to unveil its cutting-edge Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) factory in early 2024. According to Ernest Ugwuzor, the factory’s chief operating officer, which is set to produce over 5,000 coveralls monthly, is ready for commissioning.
In an exclusive interview with Majorwaves during the 12th Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) event in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Ugwuzor stated, “The Future Concerns PPE factory has been built. We’re going to provide over 5,000 coveralls monthly. We will invite the entire industry to be at the commissioning early next year.”
Commending the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Ugwuzor applauded the effective implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, noting increased compliance among companies.
He expressed optimism: “The expectation is that by 2027, the NCDMB will actualize about 70 percent local content in Nigeria. It’s exciting to know that Future Concerns has been part of that journey.”
Highlighting Future Concerns’ commitment to job creation, Ugwuzor emphasized, “We’ve been around for about 26 years, we employ 100 percent Nigerians, (and) with the factory we’ve built, we’re going to create more jobs for Nigerians.”
Addressing areas for improvement, the COO stressed the need for continuity in government policies, stating, “If we could see some continuity, that would be very welcomed because we’ve made a lot of progress. And to sustain that progress, we need to continue what we’re doing and do better.”
