FIRS Chairman Highlights Role of Armed Forces in Securing Tax Revenue

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigerian Armed Forces have pledged to strengthen their collaboration to improve revenue collection and enhance national security.

This commitment was emphasized during a recent meeting between FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa.

Interdependence for National Progress:

Adedeji stressed the importance of collaboration with the Armed Forces in achieving FIRS’s revenue collection goals. He acknowledged the need for a secure environment where businesses can operate and generate taxable income.

“The Armed Forces play a crucial role in fostering an environment conducive to economic growth,” Adedeji noted. “This, in turn, translates to increased tax revenue for the government, benefiting all Nigerians.”

Military Stands Firm in Support:

General Musa reaffirmed the military’s unwavering support for FIRS’s operations. He recognized FIRS’s vital role in generating revenue for critical government services and the importance of taxation for national development.

“The success of FIRS directly contributes to Nigeria’s progress,” General Musa stated. He pledged the military’s commitment to providing security and assistance to FIRS, ensuring they can carry out their duties efficiently and without any hindrance.

United Effort for a Secure and Prosperous Nation:

This collaboration between the FIRS and the Armed Forces highlights the government’s recognition of the link between national security and economic prosperity. By working together, these two entities aim to create a secure environment that fosters business growth and ultimately leads to increased tax revenue for the betterment of all Nigerians.
