A software developer, Mr Garry Sylvester, on Wednesday called for adoption of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to boost the country’s ease of doing business rating.

Sylvester, who made the call during in a news conference in Abuja, said it was high time Nigeria  took the issue of technology seriously, adding that it had become the driver of world’s economy.

He noted that technology was driving everything in the world, from agriculture, health, environment, finance to other sectors, adding that Nigeria could not afford to be left behind.

While commending the progress made so far in terms of technological advancement in the country, Sylvester said more needed to be done to compete favourably internationally.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sylvester developed HYPERTRAC, an automated software, to reduce traffic for service providers and clients from physically following up documents, files, proposals and business transactions.,

He said that the software would help address challenges associated with workflow processes to improve service delivery, inter-governmental relations, strengthening open government initiatives and transparency in business.

According to him, the software is useful, particularly in government organisations to ease delay in processing of documents.

“HYPERTRAC makes file transfer and monitoring easy.It synchronises both individual and corporate business transactions on a single platform, for easy access and monitoring of information concerning business transactions within an organisation.

“This helps with workflow processes as well as interface with service providers among other things.

“With HYPERTRAC, there is no need for service providers or individuals to be physically present to monitor or track their files or document. They can do this from the comfort of their offices or homes anywhere in the world.

“The software also enables workers to focus their time and energy on other responsibilities without distraction from contractors, service providers and all that.

“Such workers are those with high work load like large firms, Ministries, Departments, Agencies, (MDAs) International Oil Companies (IoCs), diplomatic agencies and  banks among others.

“It has four portals that enable the ease of doing business and they are the Major or Administrative Clients Portal, Staff Portal, Contractor or Service Providers Portal and Individual Portal.”
