Eunisell Advocates for Domestication in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Sector.

Eunisell Limited, a leading chemical and production solutions company, has reiterated the need to domesticate Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, emphasizing the role of local content and indigenous companies in driving sustainable growth.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) 2024 Annual International Conference at Eko Hotel, Lagos, Eunisell’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ken Okeiyi, delivered a keynote address on the importance of localizing the oil and gas value chain.

The conference, themed “Resolving the Nigerian Energy Trilemma: Energy Security, Sustainable Growth, and Affordability,” gathered key stakeholders from across the energy sector to discuss Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape.

“In an era where energy security and growth are paramount, we must prioritize the development of indigenous capabilities to domesticate the oil and gas value chain. You can’t control what you don’t domesticate,” Okeiyi stated.

He highlighted that strengthening local content is fundamental to building a resilient energy sector capable of addressing Nigeria’s energy demands while remaining competitive on a global scale. He also underscored the strategic role of indigenous firms in fostering a sustainable energy future and tackling Nigeria’s unique energy challenges.

“The domestication of oil and gas operations is not only a pathway to economic empowerment but a necessity for safeguarding Nigeria’s energy future,” Okeiyi remarked, calling for stronger collaboration among stakeholders, policymakers, and the private sector to achieve this goal.

Eunisell’s Group Managing Director, Chika Ikenga, further reinforced the company’s commitment to bolstering Nigeria’s energy sector through homegrown expertise and solutions. “Supporting initiatives that prioritize local involvement is not only vital for economic growth but also essential for creating jobs and reducing our reliance on imports,” Ikenga said during a media briefing on the sidelines of the conference.
