ENERGY TIMES to Honour Adelabu, Oyebanji, Kyari, Adesina on April 11

The prestigious ENERGY TIMES Awards is set to recognize distinguished leaders and innovators in the energy sector on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos. This maiden edition will celebrate individuals and organizations whose contributions have significantly impacted Nigeria’s energy industry and economy.

Dignitaries and Award Recipients

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, will not only serve as the Special Guest of Honour but also be honored for his contributions to the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kolo Kyari, will lead top oil and gas executives to the event. Kyari, who has transformed NNPCL into a profit-making enterprise and revitalized Nigeria’s refineries, will be awarded the Man of the Year Award.

 

 

Other top dignitaries receiving awards include:

  • Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, who will be conferred with the Life Achiever of the Year Award.
  • Engr. Ahmed Farouk, Chief Executive of NMDPRA, recipient of the Transformational Leadership Award.
  • Dr. Kola Adesina, Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, honored as Energy Icon of the Year.
  • Mrs. Mojisola Abdul, Chairman of Mojec International, awarded Entrepreneur of the Year.
  • Mr. Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, attending as a Special Guest of Honour.

Excellence Awards in the Oil & Gas Sector

Several key industry professionals will be recognized for their outstanding contributions:

  • Engr. Wole Ogunleye, Chairman of PETAN.
  • Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL.
  • Prof. Billy Okoye, Executive Chairman of Raffles Energies Ltd.
  • Mr. Andy Odeh, former General Manager, External Relations & Sustainable Development, NLNG.

Additionally, MOMAS Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company (MEMMCOL) will receive the Most Innovative Company of the Year Award, while Heirs Energies will be honored as the Outstanding Oil & Gas Company of the Year.

Recognizing Long-standing Subscribers

In a unique segment of the event, five long-standing subscribers to ENERGY TIMES will be honored with Certificates of Recognition for their unwavering support since the publication’s inception.
