Eko Electricity Distribution Company says it has provided 7,746 meters to its customers this year. The company also said a project to improve its estimated billing system was ongoing and would reduce cases of outrageous billing.
The General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, Godwin Idemudia, said in a statement that the company had included the metering of distribution transformers to its meter roll-out plan. According to him, 105 units of 500KVA Distribution Transformers were metered from September 2017 till date.
Idemudia explained that metering the distribution transformers would enable the company to determine the exact amount of energy consumed in an area, and that customers would be billed based on the readings from the meters installed at the transformers.
