Ekiti State has initiated a collaborative venture with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development as part of its efforts to enhance socio-economic development. The goal of this partnership is to harness the plentiful solid mineral resources within the state, promoting economic growth and generating employment opportunities.

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji expressed the commitment to this joint endeavor during a courtesy visit to Dr. Oladele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, at his office in Abuja.

In a press statement issued by Mr. Alaba Balogun, the Head of Press & PR, Governor Oyebanji clarified the objectives of his visit, highlighting the importance of Ekiti aligning with the ministry’s vision to maximize socio-economic benefits.

The Governor stated, “The reason is to discuss how Ekiti state can partner with this Ministry and ensure we key into its vision; any discerning state that wants to develop his state must key into this vision. Because in this vision, I see a lot of opportunities and he is trying to democratize the space. And it will create wealth, create jobs, it will increase security.”

Recognizing Dr. Oladele Alake’s substantial contributions to Ekiti State as a native, Governor Oyebanji stressed the appeal of the ministry’s vision, likening it to the next oil. He emphasized that any forward-thinking state would actively seek collaboration in this strategic endeavor.
