Egbin Power Reaffirms Commitment to SDG 3 with 7th Annual Medical Outreach
Egbin Power has once again demonstrated its dedication to promoting good health and well-being through its 7th Annual Medical Outreach. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), emphasizing access to quality healthcare for all.
In collaboration with Livewell Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organization, the three-day outreach provided free medical services to over 3,000 residents from Egbin, Ijede, and Ipakan communities. Services included cardiovascular, dental, and eye checkups, diabetes tests, malaria treatment, hepatitis screening, and blood pressure examinations. Residents also received free eyeglasses, dental kits, and medications after thorough medical evaluations.
Felix Ofulue, Head of Corporate Communications and Branding at Egbin Power, highlighted the importance of the program, stating, “The health and well-being of our host communities are critical to our success. This outreach reflects our commitment to SDG 3 and underscores our belief that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right.”
Community leaders and residents lauded the initiative, praising Egbin Power for its continuous support and impactful programs. High Chief Olayemi Olukunga, Aro of Egbin Kingdom, described the outreach as a cherished annual tradition, while beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the access to healthcare services that would otherwise be costly.
Egbin Power’s efforts underscore its role as a socially responsible corporate citizen, making a tangible difference in the lives of its host communities while advancing global sustainable development goals.
