Egbema Power Station with 375MW Capacity to Be Completed by 2025 – NDPHC
The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) has announced that its Egbema Power Station, located in Imo State, will be completed by 2025. The power plant, with a capacity of 375 megawatts (MW), is expected to significantly boost Nigeria’s energy generation.
This was disclosed by Engr. Jenifer Adighije, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NDPHC, during an inspection of the facility in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area. Adighije highlighted that upon completion, the power station will enhance transmission to the national grid, contributing to reliable and affordable electricity for vulnerable Nigerians.
“We are here to provide them with the necessary support and resources to ensure the project meets its timeline,” Adighije said. She emphasized the alignment of the project with President Tinubu’s vision to increase energy capacity and promote energy inclusion, especially in underserved communities.
The Egbema Power Station is expected to play a key role in improving grid capacity and addressing electricity access gaps in Nigeria, once fully operational.
